I started making preparations for this years Great Tommy Sleep out and signed up the other day for another night out in the cold in order to hopefully raise some funds to help homeless veterans here in the UK.
Ive done this twice before, 1st year in the garden, last year at a local campsite in my Mazda Bongo. This year I will be wild camping on a nearby farm. Its not too far but I will be taking my gear in the van because I don’t plan on getting too cold this year and will be taking my new “hot tent” and wood burning stove.
I have two fundraisers one on Facebook and one on justgiving if you can afford a small donation please consider sponsoring me, if you dont want to use either of those you can send me a donation or hand me a suitcase full of cash is you want. All the money goes to RBLI which ever link you use.
Like last year, if I reach my fundraising goal of GBP150 (not including my own donation) I will camp for two nights instead of one. If double I will do a second camping trip etc.
It takes place in March and I will do it as early in the month as possible and will keep you posted here and on social media.
If you cant donate thats no problem you can still follow along on social media, I will be taking a radio or two and will post frequently and also hope to chat with a few of you one the radio. Where I am going has good 4G coverage to make posting on the internet a bit easier this year.
I will be camping a couple of miles from Dunkery Beacon so may include a SOTA activation as well as POTA.
More details as we go until March and possibly a pre event camping trip if I get time.
