JS8 QSO Party – Sunday

Yesterday was pretty good all round on JS8, I wasn’t able to get out on the RIB due to technical issues (the starter battery was unserviceable)

So after replacing that, I decided to set up Maritime Mobile and see how i did.

Not very well at all.

Yesterday I was able to have a chat with Julian – OH8STN – using the same set up – Icom IC-7100 and Superantenna MP1. But today although I was able to hear and decode other stations i was not getting heard. Never mind, condiions on HF were a nit “up-and-down” again and that’s to be expected in this stage of the solar cycle.

I did have a great couple of hours out in the RIB in the sunshine playing Radios.

JS8 and the UI JS8Call are great, if you’ve not tried it and what to find out more then head over to the website – http:.//JS8Call.com and remember its still pre-release so be sure to read the documentation first to find out what that means to you in the short term. If you have used it before an given up/dont like it then let me know if there is anything I can help you with!

And finally here’s a video of where I was operating from this morning.

See you on the Air!
