My new project to add to my portable set up is this little computer I discovered recently.
Although I love the raspberry pi for its small size and low power usage, most of the available software for Amateur radio runs best on Windows.
I found the Lattepanda which is just slightly bigger than the pi but still requires just a 5V USB 2A power supply but itโs designed to run windows 10 (but you could also run Linux on it if you want). The model I have has 4GB RAM and a 64GB eMMC drive on the board. This should be more than enough for any Amateur Radio software out there to run on.
I plan to build this into my portable Icom 7100 peli case and repurpose an old laptop screen for a monitor fitted into the top of the case.
Within about 5 mins of taking it out of the box I had APRS messenger up and running on it with no problems ๐
I will post more about it when I get it all properly set up but Im quite pleased with my brief look at it so far ๐
